CEA-308 - A Brazilian Racer Airplane developed by Aeronautical Engineering Students

Dear Friends,
I want to share with you a design that I developed with my aeronautical engineering students at Federal University of Minas Gerais, in Brazil. It is called CEA-308, he is a racer that fits on FAI C1a0 category (propeller driven airplane with less then 300kg of maximum take-off weight). I designed this airplane as my graduation project and I start to build it in 2000. I became professor in this university and we used the construction and development of this airplane as extra-curricular activities in order to improve the formation of our students. Last December we set four FAI world records with this airplane. Speed in 3km, 15km and 100km and time to climb up to 3000m. Using 80hp we set 360kph (194kts) in 3km and 330kph (178kts) in 15 and 100km. The time to climb up to 3000m was 8min and 51seg. These records are waiting final approval of FAI. It is flew by Capt. Gunar Armin, a corporate pilot and former Brazilian Aerobatic Champion.
